Title: Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Location: Crown Point or Indianapolis, IN - Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote)

Compensation: $82K-$110K (DOE) + Bonus Potential (Origination, Hours)

Who We Are: Founded in 2001, we are a mid-size, full-service firm with a focus on workers' compensation and personal injury defense. We have offices in Chicago, Crown Point, and Indianapolis and are looking to add an associate attorney at either of our Indiana offices. 2000 billable hours. 

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in workers' compensation cases, providing expert legal advice, and effectively managing claims and disputes. The position requires a strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and the ability to navigate complex legal systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation hearings and appeals.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance on workers' compensation matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurance companies.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including evidence gathering and witness preparation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting workers' compensation.
  • 2000 billable hours

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Licensure in Indiana required, licensure in Illinois is a plus!
  • 2+ years in workers' compensation law, personal injury defense
  • Litigation experience preferred
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
