Traveling Superintendent - Ground Up Commercial

Position Overview
The Traveling Superintendent for Ground Up Commercial projects will oversee the construction process from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves significant travel to various job sites and requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams effectively and coordinate with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
  • Manage site supervision and coordinate construction activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate unforeseen challenges.
  • Control project budgets and ensure all expenditures are documented and within financial guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to guarantee work meets both company and industry standards.
  • Lead and mentor construction teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to report on project progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Review and interpret blueprints and construction documents to guide project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements throughout the construction process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Superintendent in ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with all project stakeholders.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management in construction projects.
  • Familiarity with safety compliance regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Proficient in scheduling software and construction management tools.
