This position works in a laboratory setting as well as in the field overseeing plant operations and customer job sites. The chosen candidate will work closely with Plant Operators to direct day to day activities of lab technicians and set appropriate goals. What You Will Be Doing

Sampling, processing, and testing materials used in the production of Hot Mix Asphalt in accordance with AASHTO, ASTM, DOT, and FAA
Advising on updates to company QC plan and enforcement of said plan
Preparing and maintaining daily progress reports, QC charts, and testing records
Performing physical tests of the volumetrics at the plant and in the field as required
Communicating with Plant Operators, Field Superintendents, State Hwy Officials and Customer Engineering Representatives as needed
Gathering samples and materials to send off to 3rd parties for mix design
Advising on mixture blend changes
Other tasks as required

What You Need for this Position

5+ years of related paving industry experience and:
Trade school or 4 year degree
Certified (Agg Field Lab and Asphalt Mix Tester)
Prior experience with DOT projects
Prior experience with mix design for public and private sector projects
Ability to read and interpret engineering specs
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of federal, state, and local guidelines
