Located in Los Angeles, CA, we are a rapidly-growing high-tech Wireless Communications company specializing in MANET solutions doing heavy R&D supplying radio systems to both commercial and defense markets.

We are seeking a Principal R&D Engineer to oversee and participate in the capture, planning, design, prototyping, and verification of wireless technology projects.

What You Will Be Doing

Technical management of R&D projects and programs to include overall system design, requirement specification, setting and tracking development schedules/tasks, overseeing paper design/simulation/software/FPGA/testing, customer-facing engagement, technical material preparation, and reporting to management as required for strategic planning/assessment

Participate in R&D business development and capture efforts to include whitepaper and proposal preparation, understanding of current technology, pitch future enhancements/strategies, and communicate engagement with government and industry

Work collaboratively within the senior R&D team on executing larger team-wide projects, setting a comprehensive team-wide technology portfolio/pipeline and perform other related duties as needed

What You Need for this Position

M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant field

10+ years of experience

Design and Development of wireless systems

Technical project leadership

Participation in the complete technology development cycle

Familiarity or expertise in the following:

C/C++, MATLAB, Python

RF propagation, channel modeling, digital communication

Wireless ad-hoc mesh networking, medium access (MAC), routing algorithms

Signal processing algorithms, MIMO, OFDM, beam-nulling

Cognitive radio, congested and contested spectrum, interference mitigation

RF sensing, signal detection, classification

Technical writing, proposal preparation, technical presentation
