Construction Safety Manager

We're a family owned business with over 75 years in the business, leading the state in heavy civil and highway infrastructure construction. Since the very beginning transportation has been our core market and focus and it's set us apart for decades. We're growing and looking for an experienced Construction Safety Manager to join our team! Could this be you? 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies in accordance with CALTRANS regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to construction workers and management on safety practices and procedures.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure safety measures are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents for compliance reporting and audits.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and emerging safety technologies relevant to construction and heavy civil projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management, with a focus on highway projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of CALTRANS safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively promote safety culture among workers and management.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30-hour, CSP, or similar are preferred.
