Civil Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction projects related primarily to public works and land development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering principles and have experience using AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other design software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze civil engineering projects, including utilities, water/wastewater, roads, bridges, and public infrastructure.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Civil3D to prepare detailed drawings and specifications for construction.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure project alignment and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare project proposals, reports, and documentation for project stakeholders.
- Assist with preparing project permit applications and supporting documents and coordinate with the approving agency.
- Assist in the management of project budgets and timelines.
- Interact regularly with clients, which includes maintaining current relationships and developing new relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of related engineering experience, whether through consulting or design work (required).
- 2 years of management and project management preferred.
- Active PE or able to sit for the PE exam highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and other civil engineering design software.
- Experience in public works projects and utilities design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Civil3D, water/wastewater design, and construction management is a plus.
